Nicotine 03:46
I feel like a cigarette
 (then think to yourself "no!")
Are you addicted yet to my taste? Like feeding your heart with nicotine (You know I got hooked again) It could take your breath away Like feeding your heart with nicotine (You know I got hooked again) Breathe it in the easy way I can hardly taste What you’re feeding me A shortness of breath Marking your time (Visualize various situations) Buy everything we sold you The cheapest high Like feeding your heart with nicotine (You know I got hooked again) It could take your breath away Like feeding your heart with nicotine (You know I got hooked again) Breathe it in the easy way (And you feel this now, it’s a good feeling) You know I got hooked again (To my taste) You know I got hooked again Lyrics: Elliot Page

Motion 03:49
Motion We got a way Tell everyone We got a way We wake up in motion Sliding in and out of place We are taking charge again A space to call our own We got a way Tell everyone I can sense it We have found our voice We are taking charge again We got a way Tell everyone To tell everyone Now the time is right We won’t wait to come alive We’ll awaken on our own high We’ll come alive We can take it To our own heights Yeah, we’ll come alive

Hide 05:58
Waiting in the wind On a platform for an outbound train A state of emotion you restrain Waiting in the rain On the side of a highway for a ride You’ve got everything to hide Packed away Colors run within your eyes One painted tear Running the lines of your face Be it from sorrow Be it from joy Sure as tomorrow Thickens your skin There comes a time to hide I can fall like rain I can run the river deep Paint me what you will Though I’m not yours to keep I can fall like rain (Fall like rain) I can run the river strong and wide I color your loss, your gain (Loss your gain) I am the song that made you weep You’ve got everything to hide (To hide) Packed away Colors run within your eyes Everything we got to hide, to hide One painted tear Running the lines of your face Be it from sorrow Be it from joy Sure as tomorrow Thickens your skin There comes a time to hide Running from your eyes Colors run within your eyes Everything we got to hide Colors run within your eyes

UNuU 03:39
You knew you were right You knew you were right No one could tell you otherwise No one could tell you how to die In the twilight of your empire You knew you were right You knew you were right You knew you were right All turn to gold All turn to gold All turn to gold All turn to gold In your wanton eyes You knew you were right You knew you were right Hate it when we stop trying The darkness feels like dying Hate it when we stop trying Trying

about

The Forest Effect's A Space To Call Your Own, was released in 2024, while recording began in ... 2004! Completed in 2007. And shelved ... until now.

Born into a cruel post-Napster world in which many fans stopped buying CDs but streaming was still a future promise, our little record didn't have the support it needed to survive. So we put it on ice. Now de-thawed, it still sounds like us!

about

The Forest Effect Arlington, Massachusetts

Intentional / impactful Boston indie rock band led by vocalist/guitarist Elliot Page.
The music of The Forest Effect is an interplay of light and dark tones, like capturing the way the late-afternoon light filters through the layers of the forest. They’ve been described as “if the guys from Dismemberment Plan met up at Wilco’s loft to play some Pink Floyd and The Black Crowes covers.” ... more
